Dalgona Coffee is the internet’s new favorite drink! The trend of making this coffee started from Tiktok and now made its way to all social media sites. So, what is Dalgona Coffee? It is a simple whipped coffee drink using only 3 ingredients paired with your favorite milk.

The beverage is physically appealing due to its natural blend of milk and the frothy coffee topping. This unique beverage is named Dalgona for its resemblance to South Korea’s street food ‘Dalgona’ which is a Korean sponge candy.

Dalgona coffee looks fancy and people usually assume that it’s an expensive beverage, but it’s actually not and it also just takes a short time to prepare which means anyone can make it.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp. Granulated White Sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. Instant Coffee
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. Hot Water
  • Ice Cubes
  • Milk

How to make Dalgona Coffee

Time needed: 8 minutes.

  1. Mix the Main ingredients.

    Add your coffee, sugar, and hot water into a mixing bowl

  2. Whisk the mix up.

    You can whisk it manually for 4-5 minutes until foam forms.
    If you have an electric mixer, you can whisk it for about a minute until frothy.

  3. Adding ice and milk of your choice.

    Add ice to a glass and fill 3/4 of the glass with milk, You can use any milk of your choice

  4. Add the final touch.

    Add your coffee froth on top of your milk

Another recipe you can try is the Dalgona Matcha. In creating this, you have the choice to add coffee with the matcha or you can also have it coffee-free.

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp. Granulated White Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp. Vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp. matcha
  • Milk
  • Ice

How to Make Dalgona Matcha

  • Add your sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract into a mixing bowl
  • whisk the mixture until foamy
  • Add your matcha powder to the mixture and whip it again. The reason matcha is added at the end is to preserve its rich color.
  • Add ice to a glass and fill 3/4 of the glass with milk
  • Add your matcha froth on top of your Dalgona Matcha.
